Hello, I am Katelynn Alicia Ruffner
Simply put - A journeyDo you remember your mother's beauty? What about your father's smile lines? When you were little, did you visit your grandmother's house and a warm embrace welcomed you as you ran up to hug her?
I'm here to capture those moments and never let you forget them. Portrait photography is more than having people stand together and say, "cheese". An image should capture the feeling a warm hug gives you or the way a smile brightens up someone's eyes. I capture the moments of candid natural interactions.
Career
I've spent the last 10 years in the aviation industry. Like most people the pandemic grounded me; I finally had time to cultivate a business that allowed me to express my creative ideas. I began my business in 2021 and although my business is new, my passion and experience are decades old.
The concept I love most about portrait photography is that I am able to be a part of someone’s special day; their wedding, their child’s first birthday, or their Grandmother's 80th celebration.
I think my lifelong passion for psychology and my empath soul allows me to understand my clients, make them feel comfortable, and help them share their heart through a photograph.
I am so grateful for this journey and I can’t wait to work with you. My mission is to create whatever you truly want to express.

Katelynn is probably the most amazing photographer I have ever worked with. Coming from a line of pageantry, modeling, photo shoots, she is hands down the best. The way she took care of my family and I during our shoot, I just couldn’t not express how thankful I am for her. She’s a kind soul, and just a good person. She does this for her own enjoyment and it shows that she truly loves her job. Her communication is always on top when it comes to clients. You’ll never be left in the dark with questions. I could go on and on about her but she’s the photographer you want and need.

The first time I worked with Katelynn was for my maternity shoot. I told Katelynn the vision and she completely nailed the location - note that she didn’t know of one off hand but after I told her what I wanted she came back with options she had found. Katelynn made me and my husband feel so comfortable the entire time. My husband hates being in front of the camera but she was so good at directing us (and actually giving us feedback on what we should / shouldn’t do) that helped so much. Her sneak peek came the next day and I was obsessed (I jokingly say she sent me into labor because my water broke as I was looking at the sneak peek). I absolutely love the photos she took and think it’s so special that they were taken right before our baby girl arrived (and when my belly was at its biggest). Katelynn then did a 6-month shoot with our daughter. With Covid, she obliged with our request to do the shoot in our home, and she was so incredibly patient working with our little one. She was also gracious enough to have my sister (who was visiting) join in a few of the snaps. We’re going to be working with Katelynn again in December when our little one turns 1, and I can’t wait to see how they come out! My husband and I have loved working with Katelynn and I’m sure we’ll continue to work with her for years to come.

Katelynn was amazing! She made sure I was comfortable with my elder dog and made everything run so smoothly! She was able to capture the pure essence of my dog! She did an outstanding job with every single picture.
